Distinguished Merit Scholarships (campaign / donor-funded)
Distinguished merit scholarships are available to students of any major interest; to date, 15 UNCW students have received four scholarships supported by the Sidbury, Chancellor’s, Bess Smith, and Jean and Eric Rosenberg endowments.
Tuition-equivalent Honors scholarship
The awards may range from $500 a year to an award equivalent of in-state tuition and fees (~$7,500 per year). The average Honors scholarship award is $2,000 and renewable for three additional years as long as students are in good standing in the Honors College and make satisfactory annual progress toward graduating with University Honors.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship (federal)
Award amounts vary depending on the length of study with a maximum award of $5,000. Recipients are eligible to receive an additional $3,000 Critical Need Language Supplement for a total possible award of up to $8,000.
Cameron School of Business Scholarships (CSB)
Cameron School of Business annually awards over 50 undergraduate and graduate scholarships.
Department of World Languages and Cultures Academic Scholarship
One scholarship of $500.00 is awarded to students who demonstrate special ability in the area of foreign language study and overall academic excellence.

Two scholarships of $1,175 are awarded to students majoring in a world language who demonstrate special ability.
Honors Merit Award range
Honors Merit Awards range from $1,000 to the equivalent of in-state tuition and fees and are awarded one year at a time.
James E. L. Wade Scholarship
Current award is $2000 per year (renewable for four years)
J. Rupert Bryan Scholarship
Current award is $1200 per year (renewable for four years)
Lapaire-Stites French Studies Scholarship
One scholarship of $500.00 is awarded to students majoring in French for academic excellence in French.
Mae Rachel Freeman Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student who has demonstrated leadership qualities; incoming recipients must have an overall high school GPA of 2.80 on a 4.00 scale. Submit Financial Aid web-based application to be considered.
Marla Rice-Evans Political Science Scholarship
Considered a merit scholarship; recipient selected on demonstrated academic ability; recipient shall have earned a 3.5 GPA in at least 6 hours in the International Affairs minor curriculum.

Two scholarships of $125.00 are awarded to students majoring in a world language.
