Distinguished Merit Scholarships (campaign / donor-funded)
Distinguished merit scholarships are available to students of any major interest; to date, 15 UNCW students have received four scholarships supported by the Sidbury, Chancellor’s, Bess Smith, and Jean and Eric Rosenberg endowments.

Tuition-equivalent Honors scholarship
The awards may range from $500 a year to an award equivalent of in-state tuition and fees (~$7,500 per year). The average Honors scholarship award is $2,000 and renewable for three additional years as long as students are in good standing in the Honors College and make satisfactory annual progress toward graduating with University Honors.
Eligibility: All students must:
* Complete the UNCW Scholarship Application by March 1st annually
* Be in good standing with Honors and the University
* Have a 3.5 GPA or higher, no disciplinary actions outstanding, and have maintained continuation in Honors with no more than two semesters since the student's last Honors course

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship (federal)
$5,000
Award amounts vary depending on the length of study with a maximum award of $5,000. Recipients are eligible to receive an additional $3,000 Critical Need Language Supplement for a total possible award of up to $8,000.
