Lehman College Academic Scholarship
Lehman College offers Academic Scholarships to entering students with outstanding records of scholastic accomplishment. Freshmen do not need to file a separate application. Prior to admission, all entering freshmen are evaluated as potential scholarship recipients. However, transfer students must submit an application.

Provider scholarships - typical range
Many study abroad program providers offer their own scholarships and grants. Awards typically range from $500 to over $5,000 and may include need-based, merit-based, diversity, or location-specific funding.
SCPS partial tuition assistance
Thanks to our generous donors, Lehman College offers partial tuition assistance (50% to 60%) for select programs within the School for Continuing and Professional Studies.

CLS - fully funded program
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers fully-funded, intensive summer language instruction and cultural immersion for U.S. students in 13 critical languages.
Excelsior - tuition coverage
The Excelsior Scholarship is a New York State funded grant program, when combined with other grants/scholarships, will allow eligible full-time students to attend Lehman College, tuition free.
FEA awards
The Fund for Education Abroad provides scholarships of up to $5,000 to U.S. undergraduate students who are traditionally underrepresented in study abroad.
Freeman-ASIA awards
The Freeman-ASIA Scholarship provides financial support of $3,000 to $7,000 for U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.
Gilman - base award
Funded by the U.S. Department of State, the Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students with financial need to study or intern abroad. Students pursuing critical need languages may be eligible for an additional $3,000.

IPCE Global Scholars Award - standard
The IPCE Global Scholars Award provides $1,000 to support Lehman College undergraduate students participating in approved exchange and partner study abroad programs.
Tortuga award
The Tortuga Study Abroad Scholarship awards $1,000 and a travel backpack to support U.S. students studying abroad for a semester.
