Department of Art History Merit Scholarships
Merit Scholarships are awarded independent of financial need.
Merit Scholarships are granted to both prospective and continuing students who demonstrate exceptional talent, artistic and academic achievement, and potential for growth.
Merit scholarships are credited toward tuition.
Eligibility: All prospective students who, following an audition/interview taken prior to March 1, are admitted to the Department of Art History and meet the qualifications for any of the scholarships listed will automatically be considered.

Geneseo Community Scholarship

* Up to an additional $2,000 per year may be awarded based on financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Geneseo Transfer Scholarship - In-state/General transfers

Eligibility: * Awarded based on the applicant's _cumulative_ college transferGPA (calculated by the admissions staff using all college credit-bearing coursework completed at the point of review). In order for transfer applicants to be considered for the Geneseo Transfer Scholarship, official college transcripts must be received for _all_ credit-bearing coursework the student has taken prior to their intended entry term at Geneseo.

New York State residents may be eligible for scholarships of up to $2,000 per year, based on their cumulative undergraduate GPA at the time of admission.
Out-of-state and international students may qualify for scholarships of up to $4,000 per year, based on their cumulative undergraduate GPA at the time of admission.

IB Scholarship - one-time

$1,000 one-time in-state

Through the International Baccalaureate Scholarship, SUNY Geneseo recognizes the rigorous academic preparation students have undertaken on their way to earn an IB diploma and grants them a one-time award of $1,000.

International Merit - Tuition Scholarship
SUNY Geneseo offers tuition scholarships of up to $10,000 USD per year to international students at the time of admission.
Eligibility: These awards are based on academic excellence, as demonstrated through transcripts, mark sheets, or national examination results.
No separate application is required. All international first-year and transfer applicants are automatically considered for these scholarships during the admissions review process.

Eligibility: The Multicultural Fellows Scholars program recruits and strives to retain high-achieving students from historically disenfranchised backgrounds. Specifically, the program supports students from low-income communities who have been excluded from higher education opportunities.
