Merit Scholarships are awarded independent of financial need. Merit Scholarships are granted to both prospective and continuing students who demonstrate exceptional talent, artistic and academic achievement, and potential for growth. Merit scholarships are credited toward tuition.

SUNY Geneseo offers tuition scholarships of up to $10,000 USD per year to international students at the time of admission.

Music Scholarships (Department for the Performing Arts)
As part of the College’s broader commitment to accessibility, the Department of Music & Musical Theatre sponsors a number of partial tuition scholarships. Matriculating students are automatically considered for a number of renewable, merit-based entrance scholarships on the basis of their audition, while continuing students enrolled in the music major may apply for a number of annual merit scholarships on a competitive basis. All scholarships are awarded in the form of a tuition credit.
